Green Zebra

The first of our Green Zebra tomatoes is ready! They're usually later than the rest of the tomatoes, but they're tangy and delicious. We ate it in a cucumber and tomato salad.

It was! We've still got loads of unripe tomatoes and I was starting to wonder if these ones would ever get going.

You do realize it's cruel and unusual to post photos of fresh homegrown tomatoes when we in the Northern Hemisphere just had 7" of snow dumped on the ground, right? (OK, so it's melting, but it's melting into a giant mush…)

OK, yes, I realize I can get payback in August or so, but it looks so gooooooooood. :P

Nooo! Not (deliberate) taunting! I have a lot of problems with heat regulation so summer is a horrible time for me, and one of the things that keeps me going is growing things. So in August we can both be happy - you'll have fresh tomatoes and I'll have cold weather!

Well actually I have horrible heat regulation too (POTS, how I loathe thee), but winter is not fun-times for me either. Where I live we basically have a month or so of nice-to-me-weather a year. Um, that is not ideal, but moving is not really an option at the moment either. *sigh* Summer produce is *delicious* though...
