*does a little dance*
We drove to
st_aurafina's family's house for Christmas lunch, a two-hour drive in lovely, lovely Christmas rain. Visiting them makes Christmas awesome, because they tend to have so much food it can't all fit on the table, whereas my family (who live further away) are more likely to have a slice of cold ham and a lettuce leaf. We drove back, full to the eyeballs, to find that
yuletide was up and running!
I had been so excited about writing a fic and a pinch hit that I had almost forgotten that a story was coming for me, but the second I opened the archive I was bouncing in my seat in anticipation. I received a story in the Temeraire universe, Warrior's Work, focusing on Captain Jane Roland and Excidium. I babbled and babbled in my feedback, because there were so many delightful things about it (especially the layout of the battle - intelligent but clearly delineated, something that I loved in the books) and it was so very much what I had wanted when I posted my request. Only better.
*sighs with happiness*
Now to eat some delicious rice and left-over roast vegetables. And read more!
