This is the first quilt I've made, so while it's a bit wonky, I'm very proud of it.
Good things about making a quilt:
- I could cuddle it while I worked on it
- it uses up vast amounts of fabric scraps that were too pretty to throw away
- now I have an actual quilt on my bed
- it was a really good pick-up-put-down project that I could do in lots of easy stages
- it's completely fascinating to stare at
Bad things about making a quilt:
- once it's assembled, it was huge and heavy and difficult to push through the sewing machine
- pieces of the same fabric call to each other and despite my best efforts I have found at least five places with adjacent matching squares
- now I'm all bereft! Though I did make a soft toy platypus today and now it is watching me beadily
- it's completely fascinating to stare at so my time going to bed or getting up has been greatly extended
( Photos! )
I definitely want to make another one some time, so if there's any experienced quilters on my flist, please give me hints!
