Thank you for writing a fic for me! I can't really say, "If you just write one fic..." because I love all the fandoms I have chosen, and would be delighted to read a fic for any of them. You have my requests, everything else I've added here is just guidelines.
Things I don't want to read
It's a short list, but I don't like reading incest, adult/child, mentor/student or other relationships with a severe power imbalance. This means that Middleman/Wendy, in particular, is right out. I also don't like fics where rape, violence or torture is sexy, though fics with rape, violence and torture not portrayed that way are fine, especially for Suicide Squad. I'm not a fan of kinky stuff when that's the sum of the fic, but mentions of kink won't bother me. Character bashing in the service of shipping or plot is not fun, but it's not something I often see in Yuletide anyway - we're here because we love these characters in these tiny fandoms.
Things I do want to read
Plot! Adventure! Arguments! Travel! Sidekicks save the day! Origin stories! Villains doing good! Heroes doing evil! Ambiguity! Explanations! Smart people doing smart things! Foolish people trying to do smart things and failing! Cunning plans and desperate last-ditch efforts!
I think at heart I am a gen-ficcer, but happily read slash, het and femslash. I love stories with plot, but, since this is fanfic, not-very-plotty stories about a canon plot are also great.

Naomi Novik - Temeraire series
Request: Tharkay is a fascinating character and I would love to read about him, in China, England, anywhere in between or just in the middle of a journey. Some Tharkay/Laurence or Tharkay & Laurence would be lovely, but not necessary.
I've only requested Tharkay as a character, not because I don't want to read about other characters, but to give you some freedom as to where you might wish to set this fic. In a societies with such rigid racial and social divisions as China and Britain of the time, Tharkay cultivates his image as an outsider. Nonetheless, he always has connections and companions, and seems to travel freely between the worlds of his parents and just about anywhere else, too. How does he achieve this freedom - which no other characters have, not even the dragons - and is it what he really wants, or is it a defence against societies that would not accept him? Fic set before, during or after the books is good, and I'm Australian, so a story set on the transport ships to Australia is very welcome.
The Middleman (tv)
Request: I really don't want Wendy/Middleman fic please. Otherwise I love the atmosphere, the characters, the humour, the seriousness and everything about this show.
While this is a fandom that could certainly use a little queering up, it's got great rollicking gen adventure written all over it. A combination would be great - and although the quick wit of the show is a big drawcard for me, there's no reason why a more serious fic wouldn't work. I've picked "Any" because I really mean it - anyone from the main characters to El Gordo to Manservant Neville to Dr Barbara Thornfield M.D. Ph.D would be welcome. Oh, and, in case you haven't realised it, I'm deadly serious about not wanting Wendy/Middleman.
Suicide Squad
Request: I've selected Amanda Waller as my request because she's the absolute centre of the team in any incarnation, but a story about anyone else featuring The Wall is great, too. Oh, and considering the nature of this wonderful comic, death fics and villainous behaviour are just fine.
This was the first comic I ever collected, way back in the 80s, so I know the "classic" teams a lot better than the various modern incarnations, though the modern versions do have a lot of overlap. The comic contained political intrigue, personal despair, international terrorism, wham-bam superhero fights, broad pie-throwing comedy, death, treason, villainy, angst and friendship. It also had a boatload of great female characters as part of its team dynamic, which is something that most mainstream comic books struggle to achieve. Anything that captures the feel of any part of this series - and there's many different parts to choose from - would be wonderful.
Nextwave
Request: Monica used to lead the Avengers, you know! Anything in the style of the comic would be wonderful, and so would anything that took another direction entirely. The world of NEXTwave is a very strange place indeed.
(If you signed up for another of my nominated fandoms but aren't so sure now, this fandom is a total of two short graphic novels - an easy catch-up.) Okay. So this is an insane comic and I love it. If you've read NEXTwave, you know about the drop bears and Dirk Anger, and Monica as the voice of sanity and laser-based ass-kicking. Aaron Stack is one scary can-opener with a heart of...electronic components, and Elsa Bloodstone stands for Europe (and also for fighting icky things with her great big weapons, yay.) I like all the characters and I requested these three because they're my favourites, but I love the entire team dynamic, such as it is. I would be very happy with any kind of fic that sidles out of your brain with a great big hangover and a NEXTwave tattoo that it doesn't remember getting.
