My mysterious and yet delightful Yuletide author has written me the most sparkly, spangled, spunky fic in existence - New Steps in the tiny (and yet broadly accented and brightly coloured) fandom of Strictly Ballroom!

I asked for the women of Strictly Ballroom after the events of the movie, and this delivers far more than I could have hoped - Fran and Shirley in their new lives, Liz claiming her place as the big-haired, flat-stomached, heavily made-up heroine of the dance floor and, of all people, Tina Sparkle finding that there's more to life than under-the-table deals and drunken Ken - sometimes you need to go right back to the basics to find something new and wonderful.

[personal profile] st_aurafina can testify that I am dancing around in my seat. I am so thrilled! The writer apologised for any mistakes writing for an Aussie in one of the few Aussie fandoms - but it's just so much in the voice of the characters, and so very Strine. Zie needn't have worried. If you are at all familiar with this movie (or Baz Luhrmann in general) run! Overload the archive for this one! It's magical!
