While I am not a fan of summer - though I have recovered from that 42C/107F day - the fruit and veg are at their absolute best. We've been eating strawberries, avocado, mango, peaches, snowpeas, beans...all the good stuff! Our garden is slowly producing, too. There's buckets of basil, sage and mint, tentative parsley and now some tomatoes. The bigger tomatoes are still bright green, but the grape-sized ones are coming along nicely. Some of them.

(Image: my hand with two tomatoes in the palm. One tomato is grape-sized, one is tiny.)

Sounds amazing! I really should try to grow some basil, at least, since I love it so.

*am jealous*

We're having this awful half-winter where it sometimes snows and sometimes rains and the roads are slippery and we're all longing for a spring that maybe comes in a few months.

I am SO waiting to be able to get our garden going again with very little patience. To the point of considering container gardening in April in order to get a head start. (Yes, I have to wait until MAY if I want to be certain of no frost. Crazy state.)

This has made me want to get my garden sorted out for this coming year again!
