Oh Rachel Nichols, why so attractive? This was a very competent start and I will definitely keep watching.
Positives
- Steady camera-work so I can actually watch it without being ill
- Excellent female lead character who is competent and professional
- In fact, everyone is competent and professional (one of my favourite things!)
- Special effects are subtle and believable, as is the futuristic setting
- The terrorist group is a mix of psychos and true believers and I look forward to more of their internal conflicts
- Actual Canadian setting rather than non-specific US setting
- The future part of the plot is really interesting and the mechanics of time travel are a plot point rather than pure mechanics
Negatives
- Astonishing how a show with a lead female character still fails the Bechdel Test
- There are other female characters around, but they do and say little, so far
- Ashes to Ashes already did "female cop must get back to future because her kid is there"
- All the good guys are white (well, one is ambiguously olive) and most of the bad guys are black or Asian
- The current premise is going to need to be expanded to work, but the believability of the main character's place in it is going to be tested if they do that
All the negatives are things easily addressed by more episodes, and 10 have been made, yay.

I'm hoping the other female characters will get more screentime as she gets more intergrated into the police station. I'm looking forward to this show even if I can't for the life of me remember what day it airs.
