After a stinking hot last three days of the year, 2006 started with a cool change and lovely, lovely rain. The only comfort on these hot days is to say "At least I don't live in Adelaide." It helps.
Thank you to everyone who wrote fic, meta and otherwise creative stuff through 2005, and I'm looking forward to seeing what 2006 brings.
And a giant thank you to my Yuletide writer for Brothers In Arms. I do keep asking for Alan Moore fandoms, which must be hell to write, but if the source material inspires wonderful work like this, dammit, I'm going to keep on requesting. This story made me cry, and not much fanfic does that.
Any fan of superhero comics could read and enjoy this without necessarily knowing the characters, just as Alan Moore's Top Ten universe invites readers to jump right in. It's very accessible, and very touching. (Of course, this is no excuse not to read Top Ten!)
