It's the time of year for
femslashex! I've asked for either fic or art on all of my prompts and would be thrilled with either. All but one of my requests are canons with a visual component, but (as a long-time comics fan!) I'm very happy with different interpretations of the characters so don't feel tied down to their literal canon appearances if there's something different you want to do. The same goes for fic - while obviously I enjoy the tone of each canon, if you want to write something at odds with it, or from a different POV or using original characters to explore the canon pairings, that's all good too.
General likes: plot, women working together against common enemies, non-mundane AUs (coffee shop in space yes, coffee shop in modern day Earth no)
General dislikes: rape/non-con, non-canon character deaths, adult/teen or adult/child sexual interaction, mindless zombies, apocalyptic or post-apocalyptic AUs, character or pairing bashing
I've tried to put several prompts for each of the fandoms and a general idea of what I like about them, but if you want to do something else completely, please do! These are just suggestions.
Fandoms
American Gods (TV)
While I enjoyed the book, one thing I'm loving about the TV show is more interaction between women. The self-serving friendship between Media and Easter - both of them thinking they're getting the best of the deal - is great, and I instantly shipped them on seeing them all dressed in their Easter Sunday finery. I would love to see them plotting together, or taking a holiday together, or creating Easter extravaganzas for the TV audience or backstabbing any of the other characters. Laura/Audrey is a strange one for me: normally I don't like characters who cheat, but at the same time Audrey's reaction to dead Laura in her bathroom was (after the initial "zombie whore" shock) not at all what I would have expected from someone who had just lost her husband and best friend in a really humiliating and awful way. She seemed glad to help Laura, and they recovered equilibrium quickly. So whether or not Audrey considered Laura/Audrey to be not cheating, or if it only happened after Laura's death, or before their marriages, I would love to see them as friends who became lovers, in what looks like a deeply boring world but is really intensely weird under the surface.
If you want to include any other female characters like Bilquis or the Zorya sisters, please feel free!
Crossover - Denise Bryson (Twin Peaks)/Dana Scully (The X-Files)
I saw that someone had prompted this and I was so excited! Scully was terribly isolated from other women apart from her mother, and this pairing would just be awesome. I would love to see them working a weird case, either together or Scully working on it and referring back to Denise, or them discovering a conspiracy in the FBI, or even just having a relationship while being in the same agency. Obviously Denise would have to not be in direct command of Scully for this to happen, but there's plenty of ways that can work, especially as we don't know when Denise transferred from the DEA to the FBI. Maybe an AU where Scully works in Twin Peaks or Denise is assigned to the X-Files?
Whether or not you want to deal with Denise's resemblance to Mulder, I don't want Mulder to be a major focus in this fic.
Pairings: Misty Knight/Colleen Wing, Doreen Green/Nancy Whitehead, Xi'an Coy Manh/Danielle Moonstar, Jean Grey/Ororo Munroe, Kitty Pryde/Illyana Rasputin
Marvel 616
There's a lot of pairings to choose from here, but what I like about all of them is that they are friends and teammates first. They've been through danger and acted heroically, and they trust the other woman with their life. I am totally fine with you setting this in any era, or any team that actually existed or that you care to set up. I love creative uses of powers, letting the other person experience your powers or ways of seeing things, heroic deeds, well-deserved trust, kindness towards friends and kickassitude towards enemies. AUs or canon divergence would be very welcome, along with any version of the comics characters you want to use.
If you're writing underage Xi'an/Dani or Kitty/Illyana I would prefer a Teen rating at most. If they're 18 or older in the fic, any rating is fine.
Murder Most Unladylike Series - Robyn Stevens
School stories have always been a favourite of mine, and I love how this series combines it beautifully with the murder mystery genre. Daisy and Hazel are a dynamic duo and I love what each of them brings to the team, even if Daisy (mostly) thinks it's all her work and Hazel has to be coaxed into dangerous adventures. Daisy is bold and observant and absolutely trades on her looks and class to do whatever she needs, but always thinks she's right; Hazel is just as observant but knows she'll always be an outsider, and has a worldly perspective that Daisy often lacks, and is probably the only person apart from Uncle Felix able to successfully argue with Daisy. The other thing I really like about this series is so many competent adult women in the working world - teachers, police officers, professors - and how very clearly Daisy (and Hazel, to a lesser extent, though I think her father is less rigid about this) are being educated not to be those women.
While Hazel is canonically attracted to boys - and I loved her friendships with Alexander and George, even while Daisy was massively jealous - Daisy doesn't seem to be. Their school is filled with pashes, but great scorn for any girls truly in love, and I would love to see what Daisy/Hazel can be coming from that environment. That said, they are also very constrained by that environment, so seeing the Detective Society in an AU would also be fascinating.
If you're writing Hazel/Daisy at their canon ages, I would prefer no more than a Teen rating. If it's a future fic, any rating is fine.
