For yuletide, I wrote two stories, one of them written with many tears of despair, one of them a Yuletide Treat written in four hours. Guess which one received the most feedback? I can't blame the readers, though: the V for Vendetta fic is the result of tragedy (complete with quotations), despite its themes of hope and rebuilding. In fact, I find the fandom so depressing, though fascinating, that I didn't even read last year's excellent Yuletide V for Vendetta fic until I was making preparations to write my own story. The Excalibur fic is an old-school Claremont-style romp. With hugging. I was certainly looking for uplifting, fun reading during the stressful Christmas period, and it seems I was not alone! So, read the first fic if you're feeling strong of heart, and the second if you're in need of a hug!
